Square up for another Squars update!
This week may not have brought any big breakthroughs, but progress is steady! I’ve been deep in the Cards System and mixing in some visual improvements along the way. The Cards System is really starting to come together
Here’s a look at the debug console, where I can activate cards and test if they’re working properly. The effects can vary – from simply unlocking new buildings to completely changing how they function. I’ll dive into the inner workings of it all once it’s complete!
Since I like to work on features and visuals at the same time, I couldn’t resist improving the look of the mortar projectile. It now features a smooth parabolic flight, a thruster with flames, and a smoky trail that follows it through the air.
There’s just one issue – the smoke trail vanishes the moment the projectile explodes! I’ll need to fix that.

- Added a back buton to the game, so now we can exit properly
- Further "squarifcation" of the UI - That's basically my main goal for the entire game
- Added lights for machine gun bullets and occlusion for the Exploder enemy
- New visuals for the mortar projectile
